All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality - the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape.
Walter Bagehot

Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.
T. Tharp

And you? Do you escape from reality?

To *feainne:

What I Love:
I love the warm tones that hit the woman's skin, it really makes her glow and designates her as the center piece.
I also like all the subtleties in this piece, such as the eagles faintly frolicking in the background and the rainbow that is glistening slightly.
There is extreme and careful detail put into the entire piece, and I especially love how the fabric was done, very realistic, as well as the woman entirely, and the water/river.

Constructive Criticism:
I don't have a lot of criticism for the piece, but I do think that it might have been more interesting if the warm/happy mountain and river were on the side she was looking to (not away from) as a symbol of her desire to be free.
Also, I love the moon and how well it is done, but its placement seems a little off to me. I can't tell if it is because a small amount of fog/atmosphere overlaps with the tree or if it is too low, or what... maybe its the shading. If the light is coming from the right upper corner, the moon might look better turned about 90 degrees clockwise. I think that is it.
The mountain side on the left might also look more distnat if it were blended a bit better. It seems to detract from the cloud/sky work and the flowers in the forefront (which are BEAUTIFULLY done).
This might just be personal preference, but there always seems to be more allure if a piece is not centered. I think that would really make it pop.

Ending comments:

I love this piece. It is captivating, well done, and interesting. The atmosphere and sky are done amazingly and I love the change from warm to cool colors with the sunlight. I love the positioning of the girl, mountains, eagles, rainbow, tree, flowers, etc. Very good work!
